"Designed in the great traditions of the Scottish courses and other 18-hole courses such as Cypress Point, Pebble Beach and Pine Valley."

Robert Trent-Jones Jr., Designer

The Forest is our 18-hole championship course designed by Robert Trent-Jones Jr. This course offers an exciting and unique mix of holes to challenge skilled players and test everyday members on their golfing ability. Golfers will enjoy a quiet, lowland walk through a continuous loop course featuring a variety of shot-making challenges including straightaways, left and right doglegs in the spruce forest, and open meadow holes over rocks, creeks and ponds.A great escape from the city, this course will make you feel as if you are in the mountains. Enjoy the scenery and of course, watch out for that sand!

A Bit of History

On November 5, 2010, the golf membership voted in favour of the Board’s proposal to renovate The Forest. After more than 20 years of play, The Forest was in need of some tender loving care. After an extensive search for a course architect and contractors, the Club again retained the services of Robert Trent Jones Jr. In August of 2011, The Forest closed for renovations with plans to re-open in 2013.

After a long renovation, more than 3,000 members were eager to get out on The Forest again. Then, nine days before the scheduled opening, it hit – the great, once-in-a-century flood of 2013. This catastrophic event destroyed many of the fairways closest to the river, washing them completely away. Every green needed restoration. The hard decision was made to delay the opening for another season.

In August 2014, The Forest finally re-opened and since then has consistently ranked in the Top 70 across all of Canada!
